Bo Nix connected with an 11-yard touchdown pass and the running back contributed a two-yard ground touchdown in the final period as the Broncos overcame a two-touchdown disadvantage to deliver the Eagles their first loss of the season. The Broncos deflected Jalen Hurts' last-gasp pass on the game's concluding play to hand the reigning title holders to just their second loss in their last 22 games. Denver (three wins and two losses) got fortunate in their rally when the Eagles had a late fourth-down conversion called back on an illegal shift penalty called on star ball carrier Barkley.
Houston's quarterback passed for 244 passing yards and four touchdowns, and the Texans (two wins and three losses) strolled to a decisive victory over a depleted Baltimore team, matching both the biggest away victory in the franchise's record books and the worst home defeat in Ravens' history. The Ravens (1-4) were without two-time MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson, and that was not their sole issue. Defensive standouts Kyle Hamilton, Roquan Smith and Marlon Humphrey all were absent, and the Ravens already were depleted on that side of the ball because of a neck problem that concluded Nnamdi Madubuike's season. Baltimore were also missing Pro Bowl blocker Ricard and tackle Ronnie Stanley.
Jonathan Taylor scored three rushing scores and a two-point conversion, and the quarterback passed for two scoring throws as the Colts overwhelmed the Raiders. This decisive advantage was Indianapolis' biggest since the 2013 season. The quarterback finished 20 of 29 for 212 passing yards and improved to four wins and one loss as a starter this season, surpassing his combined victory total over the past two seasons with the New York Giants. Taylor rushed 17 times for 66 rushing yards and caught three passes for 20 yards. Indianapolis turned a blocked punt, two interceptions and a turnover on downs into touchdowns. The Raiders fell to 4-1.
Dallas' quarterback passed for four touchdown passes, leading the Dallas Cowboys to a comfortable win over the New York Jets. Dallas scored on two long marches in the second period, despite being without key linemen on the blocking unit. Javonte Williams ran for 135 yards and a touchdown and also caught a receiving touchdown. Dallas, now two wins, two losses, and a tie, rebounded from a high-scoring draw against the Packers last Sunday. New York are still without a victory at 0-5 in their new coach's first season as head coach.
Minnesota wideout Jordan Addison grabbed a 12-yard touchdown pass from Carson Wentz with 25 seconds left to secure the Vikings a win over the Cleveland Browns at the UK venue. The 10-play, 80-yard drive gave the Vikings (three wins and two losses) a much-needed win on their overseas journey, which started with a 24-21 loss to the Pittsburgh in Dublin last week. It also spoiled Dillon Gabriel's debut as starter, as the Cleveland rookie positioned his squad (1-4) in contention by throwing two scores. Another first-year player Judkins rushed for 110 yards on 23 attempts. Wentz shook off a shoulder injury that temporarily forced him out and led two scoring drives in the latter half.
Bryce Young passed for two scores and Rico Dowdle ran for 206 yards and a touchdown as the Carolina Panthers rallied past the Miami Dolphins in their home stadium. Young's short pass to rookie tight end Mitchell Evans with under two minutes to go gave the Carolina (2-3) the lead for good as they matched the largest comeback to win a game in team history by overcoming a 17-point hole. The QB had a poor start, but he finished 19 completions on 30 attempts for 198 yards with one pick. The backup, filling in for the sidelined starter, did his damage on the run on 23 carries, coming up just short of matching the team's all-time rushing mark. The Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa completed 27 passes out of 36 for 256 yards with three scores and receiver Waddle gained 110 yards through the air on six catches and scored a touchdown, but the Dolphins (one win and four losses) fell to zero wins and three losses in road games.
New Orleans' quarterback passed for an 87-yard touchdown to Rashid Shaheed, safety Jordan Howden scooped up a loose ball the length of the field for a score, and the Saints defeated the error-prone New York Giants for the Saints' first victory under first-year head coach Moore. The QB secured his maiden win in 11 professional starts, throwing for 225 yards without any mistakes. Giants rookie QB Jaxson Dart, who secured his first career start last week, passed for 202 passing yards and two touchdowns, but also turned the ball over on three occasions. The Giants turned the ball over five times in all, with none worse than when Bryan Bresee stripped running back Cam Skattebo, leading to Howden's touchdown. Each squad are one win and four losses.
