Shocking Video Reveals Instant Officers Get Knifed in Unexpected Assault

One police sergeant who rushed to the help of a colleague that got attacked by a knife attacker was granted the Royal Recognition for Valor.

Sgt Tim Ansell struggled against twenty-seven-year-old Jacob Brown after he held a blade to the neck of his partner Sergeant Marc Foster.

Brown launched his attack as the policemen and their colleague, PC Marcus Wolstencroft, were talking to a driver after a vehicle incident in the area in July 2023.

Brown knifed and cut both Sgt Ansell and Sgt Foster before PC Wolstencroft incapacitated him with a electric weapon.

"Policeman attacked," the constable stated over his radio.

Officer-mounted and dashcam footage released by the police department revealed Brown, that was clothed in black with a hood covering head, approach to Sgt Foster from the rear with a weapon pointed forward.

He collided with the policeman who tripped and dropped to the ground, before Sergeant Ansell stepped in and attempted to subdue him to the pavement although being repeatedly struck with the knife.

PC Wolstencroft deployed his electric weapon and awaited a open target, bringing the struggle to an finish.

Sgt Ansell can be heard to say: "Please provide assistance on my neck now, I got knifed in the throat."

Sgt Ansell received multiple lacerations to his neck and further cuts to his limbs and body, whereas Sergeant Foster received knife wounds.

Officials said Sgt Foster used his bare hands to stem his colleague's bleeding prior to paramedics reached the scene.

The new honor follows after the three officers won internal Bravery Awards in October 2023 and the police federation award from the area officer association in early 2024.

They further earned a Area Valor Recognition in summer 2024.

"The efforts of all three officers ultimately protected each other and meant no members of the public suffered any wounds."

Brown received a sentence to an secure medical confinement in April 2024, per the department.
